OUR WORK

An office building in the centre of Kent’s Medway; an area steeped in local history, boasting its namesake after the grand River Medway.

All works were delivered in-house using a team of 16 engineers and 1 site manager. Working closely with the building manager, works were progressed according to the detailed programme of works agreed prior to commencement.

PROJECT VALUE, SIZE & DURATION

The project program was 24 weeks.
Diﬃculties encountered with this project were phasing the works to maintain a fully functioning site. Weekend and evening works were particularly important to ensure high level interviews were able to be conducted on site daily.
Creating a temporary interview area came with its own risks. Ensuring the safety of both staﬀ and clients along with the security staﬀ, transporting clients from ground ﬂoor to level one resulted in temporary security systems being installed between both areas.

THE TASK HAND

The design was based on the recently updated corporate design guide. The main refurbishment was to the ground ﬂoor which consisted of full strip out and installation to include a reception area, multiple interview rooms and a staﬀ breakout area. The new design included full decoration, and installation of new carpet and vinyl flooring throughout. The remaining ﬂoors required a lower-level refurbishment/refresh. On level one a new staﬀ breakout area was created, and the existing open plan workspace received a light touch refresh. The temporary interview space was stripped out and the area replaced with a staﬀ conference room.
Both level two and basement areas received a light refresh.

Regarding the M&E package; a full rewire was carried out. The existing site housed old pyro installations that were replaced with new practices. New CAT6 data were supplied and installed to service the workstations.
New AC was installed throughout the ground and first floor with new ventilation.

Out of hours works were utilised alongside normal working hours to maintain the program and to allow the client to have full access to high priority meeting and interview rooms.
